 Three Years
For the past few weeks, we've seen weather here in Las Vegas steadily rise closer and closer to the triple digit mark. Then suddenly this morning, it just calmed down to a nice and breezy 75° — just like it was three years ago on this same day. I don't know why it is, call it coincidence perhaps, but I like to think it's just a nice way of reminding me that today commemorates the time when I pledged my undying love and affection for this woman who has given me nothing but happiness, and contentment in life.

 Breakfast Anyone?
Just for posterity's sake, I thought I'd rehash and list here some of the most "creative" fastfood concoctions I've encountered across the internet. Reading about these gastronomic wonders makes those much ballyhooed deep-fried Twinkies look paltry by comparison.I haven't personally tried most of them (nor would I really want to even get close to the Hamdog *nervous snicker*), except for the special version of the In-N-Out burger called the 3x3 which is actually quite good, especially with grilled onions (click here for more on In-N-Out's secret menu).
Oh, almost forgot to mention these: Deep-fried cheese curds!

 This Charming Man
The legendary Morrissey will be performing at the Pearl (Palms Concert Theater - Las Vegas). I've always been a Morrissey (and The Smiths) fan but was unable to see him perform live during the peak of his career in the 80's and late 90's due to either the financial constraints of a highschool student or the fact that the odds of him performing in Manila was scarce. I'm hoping that we are able to snag a pair of tickets and catch the show this coming June 9th, it's a rare opportunity I couldn't pass up!

 Hot In The City
My cousin Enrique and his lovely wife Donna are in town and staying with us for the week to attend a friend's wedding. With work during the day and their own itinerary to follow, we just handed them the keys to one of the vehicles so that they can come and go as they please and explore the city. And judging by the exhausted look on their faces upon returning from their Vegas Strip venture, it seems the couple both got acquainted fairly quickly with the notorious Las Vegas dry heat prevalent during this time of the year (flame on!). Yesterday evening, Rick discovered where Goldilocks Restaurant was (on Sahara and Maryland) and ordered what seemed like every item on the menu, including sisig and crispy pata! Thanks for dinner Iking, it was a real treat!

 Dude, Where's My CD?
I received a frantic phone call from my brother-in-law earlier today saying that he can't seem to locate the CD/DVD drive on his brand new Sony VIAO latop running some variant of Windows Vista (shudder). After making sure that he had a physical (CD/DVD) drive installed on his machine (kidding!), I did what any self-respecting Mac user would do when turned to for help by a Window's user — google the problem. It turns out that this sort of thing wasn't uncommon in the Windows Vista world, XP even. And after following several steps from this site and this site, the likes of which can make any normal user cringe with unease (hklm? regedit? whatha?), we were able to revive back his missing optical drive. Times like these makes me even more thankful that I use Macs instead, call me a fanboy, but the only time I ever see this happening on my laptop is if someone actually yanked that piece of hardware out of my machine. Hehe.
